2025 is another year of extraordinary commitment and growth for IBSA in the field of medical education and training in the osteoarticular field. The company has invested significant resources in supporting physicians and specialists in their professional development, consolidating its role as an international player in the musculoskeletal sector.
2025: a year of excellence in osteoarticular education and training
CONFERENCES, EVENTS AND INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
Over the year, IBSA has organised and supported 13 international events with the aim of promoting theoretical and practical training on osteoarticular pathologies and diagnostic and infiltration techniques.
Among the most important events were:
- UEFA Medical Symposium (4–6 February, Lugano – Switzerland), a meeting point between sports medicine and clinical innovation
- Joint Challenge 2025 (21–22 March, Baveno – Italy), which has become an essential event for multidisciplinary discussion on musculoskeletal disorders
- ESCEO Congress - European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (10-13 April, Rome – Italy)
- ISIAT Congress - International Symposium Intra Articular Treatment (2-4 October, Bucharest – Romania)
IBSA INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY: A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING PROJECT
Among the projects that best represent IBSA's commitment to excellence in training, the IBSA International Academy - MSK modules launched in 2021 and still ongoing, stands out.
The Academy was created with the aim of providing physicians of different specialties (such as orthopaedics, physiatry, rheumatology and sports medicine) with a structured and continuous programme that combines theory, practice and direct interaction with international experts.
The innovative approach - focusing on functional anatomy, ultrasound and infiltration techniques - has proven to be effective in improving participants' skills.
The results confirm the strong educational impact of the project, highlighting a significant development of ultrasound skills and a greater mastering of human anatomy. Participants' feedback showed that they greatly appreciated the direct contact with faculty members, the collaborative environment and the interdisciplinary approach, which encourage the exchange of knowledge and the creation of international professional networks. In addition, the hybrid training model, with face-to-face sessions and online learning modules, proved to be more effective than using a single learning channel.
Dr. Stefano Guerrasio, Orthopaedic Surgeon at UOC of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of ISS, Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale (Institute for Social Security), Republic of San Marino, Professor of Anatomy at University of Milan Bicocca and President of the Scientific Committee of IBSA International Academy, said: ‘The value of IBSA International Academy lies in its ability to combine science, practice and human interaction. Participants not only refine their ultrasound-guided technique but also develop a more informed and multidisciplinary clinical approach, which leads to real benefits for patients.’
The project, now internationally recognised, is growing and expanding, reinforcing IBSA's mission to promote medical training based on high-level scientific content and experience-based learning.
TRAINING, SPORT AND INNOVATION: A GLOBAL COMMITMENT
In addition to the Academy, IBSA organised various hands-on training events in 2025, including the 360° Infiltration Experience programme, which provided participants with the opportunity to learn ultrasound and injection techniques for the main articulations involved in osteoarthritic pathologies.
Special attention was also given to sports traumatology, with an event organised in collaboration with Zebre Rugby in Parma (Italy), which represented an important opportunity for discussion between medical science and high-level sports practice.
In 2025, IBSA's international osteoarticular events have involved a total of more than 500 physicians from 17 countries, including orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, physiatrists and sports physicians, confirming the company's commitment to continuous and multidisciplinary training. ‘Investment in training means to invest in the future of medicine and in the patients' quality of life. Our mission is to accompany physicians on a path of excellence based on science, ethics and innovation’, explains Gabriele Barbero, Global Medical Affairs Manager at IBSA.
This spirit drives IBSA to the future with the same dedication that has led it, even in 2025, to transform medical training into an experience of excellence based on international collaboration to serve osteoarticular health.
