Where talent meets opportunity: IBSA’s commitment to sport without borders

Being where we’re truly needed. For IBSA, supporting sport means being present where the challenge is greatest: where passion runs deep, but resources and opportunities are in short supply.

The Person is at the heart of every decision and every project undertaken by IBSA. For the company, this means embracing a philosophy that goes beyond healthcare alone, valuing the whole person regardless of their specific condition or the challenges they face.

Guided by this vision, the company’s commitment extends to the field of play: IBSA stands alongside athletes, clubs and associations with constant support, providing facilities, tools, and resources to ensure that merit, wellbeing and inclusion take centre stage.

THE CAMALEONTI AT THE 2026 SPECIAL OLYMPICS GAMES: SUSTAINING IN INCLUSION

IBSA’s commitment to sport

It is thanks to this ongoing support that extraordinary stories emerge, such as that of the Camaleonti, a Swiss sports association that IBSA has been supporting since 2020, and which welcomes players with various disabilities. This year, the Camaleonti have just returned from the 2026 Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games in Malmö, which took place from 2 to 6 September.

This sporting event, dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities, is one of the largest ever hosted in Sweden and offered the association’s players a unique opportunity for personal growth. The Camaleonti secured a prestigious fourth place at the European level out of 14 teams. “IBSA’s support has helped us turn a dream into an unforgettable adventure, demonstrating the importance of institutional backing for projects that promote true inclusion” states Boris Angelucci, Director of the Camaleonti.

FROM TONGA TO ANTIBES: TANGIBLE SUPPORT FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND GENDER EQUALITY

IBSA’s commitment to supporting human potential is also put into practice outside Switzerland, through partnerships established to meet the specific needs of different regions.

A centre of excellence for rugby in the Tonga Islands: in the Pacific, rugby is not just a sport, but a genuine driving force for social empowerment. To provide local talent with the means to develop professionally whilst remaining in their home country, IBSA France has partnered with the Tonga Rugby Union to establish the region’s first high-performance centre. This centre provides players with equipment, training, and support for their physical and mental wellbeing, leaving a lasting legacy for the entire community.

Talent and gender equality with the Antibes Sharks: IBSA France supports the Antibes Sharks women’s basketball team in the national league. Some women’s sports, including basketball, often face greater difficulties in securing funding and sponsorship to enable athletes to continue their careers. IBSA’s commitment aims to go beyond the boundaries of the playing field, restoring the rightful value to women’s sport and providing young female athletes with the conditions to fully realise their potential.

‘CLOSE TO YOU’: THE VALUE OF ONGOING SUPPORT

“Our role is to be a reliable benchmark and a solid source of support for those who, every day, dedicate themselves to sport whilst facing complex circumstances and limited resources,” says Salvatore Cincotti, General Manager of IBSA Group. “Whether it’s building a sustainable academy in the Pacific, supporting young female athletes in Antibes or enabling the Camaleonti to compete in Sweden, our commitment is to provide the means to bring out the true value of every individual. Supporting sport means offering opportunities where they are most needed.”

IBSA has also channelled this dedicated commitment into inclusive sailing – which look forward to telling you about in our next news!
