IBSA at Isokinetic 2026: A Concrete Commitment to Sports Medicine

IBSA strengthens its commitment to sports medicine by participating as a Diamond Sponsor at the Isokinetic Conference 2026. The event, held from 18th to 20th April in Athens, serves as a global benchmark for professionals specialising in sports injury management.

RETURN TO PERFORMANCE

Isokinetic 2026

This year's theme, "Football Medicine: Return to Performance," brought the concept of returning to performance to the forefront of discussion, with a particular focus on managing athletes in the football sector.

By participating in this congress, IBSA reaffirmed its role as a reliable partner in the research and development of innovative solutions for sports medicine and injury recovery.

SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS AND INTERACTIVE SESSIONS

IBSA contributed to the congress with a structured scientific programme, designed to foster knowledge exchange among international specialists. Central to this programme were in-depth discussions dedicated to personalised injury management.

  • The workshop, "Beyond One-Size-Fits-All: Individualised Injury Recovery in Football," presented across two sessions, explored personalised recovery strategies in professional football. The event brought together world-renowned experts, including professionals from international football clubs such as Dr. Gil Rodas (FC Barcelona), Dr. Eva Ferrer (Barça Innovation Hub), and Dr. Javier Núñez (Atlético de Madrid), offering a direct comparison of clinical approaches and practices applied in real-world contexts.
  • Two independent studies were presented during the poster sessions:
    • "Preliminary results of hybrid hyaluronic acid single injection in football players with femoropatellar condropathy" (Dr. Josep Verges; Poster: PR09)
    • "Effects of winter-time Vitamin D Supplementation in Runners and Non-Runners" (Dr. Francesco Pegreffi; Poster: PM09)
  • The "Meet the Expert" sessions at the IBSA stand provided invaluable opportunities for in-depth discussion and dialogue:
    • "Supplementation in Sports Medicine: Clinical Evidence and Practical Applications" by Dr. Francesco Pegreffi.
    • "The Hyaluronic Acid world by IBSA: from viscoelastic properties to clinical practice" by Gabriele Barbero, Global Medical Affairs Manager at IBSA.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A PERSONALISED APPROACH

Isokinetic 2026

Gabriele Barbero, Global Medical Affairs Manager at IBSA, stated: “At IBSA, we recognise the importance of a personalised approach, based on the understanding that every athlete has specific needs and requires differentiated therapeutic options. In particular, the 'Beyond One-Size-Fits-All: Individualised Injury Recovery in Football' workshop aimed to support the scientific community in promoting increasingly targeted recovery strategies, thereby contributing to improving the quality of care within sports medicine.

Through its diverse scientific and educational activities, IBSA is committed to contributing to scientific debate by promoting an approach based on the personalisation of recovery pathways, in line with the specific needs of each athlete.
