IBSA’s Seventh Sustainability Report: a transparency and responsibility journey

The path IBSA has chosen for the future is one of constantly seeking a balance between technological progress, social well-being, and respect for the environment. A form of sustainability that permeates every aspect of the company’s strategy, including initiatives aimed at improving employee well-being and generating a positive impact on the community.

IBSA’s 7th Sustainability Report for the year 2024 demonstrates the company’s commitment to responsible growth and summarises the impact of its corporate activities on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, while representing a significant step in IBSA’s journey towards transparency and accountability.

The publication of the report falls within the context of non-financial reporting, and – starting this year – IBSA has chosen to adopt the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), abandoning the voluntary Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, which was used until last year.

This decision was made to:

  • enhance the comparability and reliability of ESG data;
  • ensure the integration of sustainability into corporate strategies and operations;
  • anticipate future regulatory requirements.

THE DOUBLE MATERIALITY ANALYSIS

A central element of the 2024 report is the application of the double materiality analysis. This structured approach has enabled the identification of the company’s impacts on society and the environment, as well as the risks and opportunities related to sustainability that could influence IBSA’s financial value. This analysis, developed through a dialogue with the stakeholders, has guided the definition of the strategic priorities and initiatives presented in the report.
