Partnership between IBSA & BPW Ticino

As part of its efforts to share several of the "Sustainable Development Goals" of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and in particular the goal of Gender Equality, IBSA has chosen this year to support the Business Professional Women Club Ticino. BPW Ticino is an association that aims to defend the interests of professionally-active women, and, through BPW Switzerland, is part of BPW International - the largest network of women in the world (30,000 members).

IBSA's partnership with the BPW Club Ticino is the result fundamental values that are commonly shared. IBSA has always been committed to equal treatment and career opportunities, as demonstrated by the fact that 47% of its managers or department heads are women. Founded in Lugano in 1983, the BPW ClubTicino currently has 70 members from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, business owners and executives of different ages and nationalities.

BPW Ticino's commitment is reflected in its activities and events that focus on training, mentoring, networking and many others. Equal pay for men and women is a highly contentious issue and is one of the main projects of the association, alongside others such as Ticino Empowerment, Women on Boards, Equality Means Business, Mentoring and Equal Pay Day.

The Swiss Club, BPW Switzerland has 2300 members in all linguistic regions, active in professional, cultural, civic and social areas. The activities promoted through its local, national and international network include influential partnerships in the economy, society and politics, mentoring programs and continuing education offers, as well as collaboration with European and international institutions like the UN and the European Council.

BPW International, which together with BPW Switzerland stands for the values of personal responsibility, independence and self-determination, has also been granted consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and observer status in various organizations and bodies of the UN.
